| What Is H.E.A.R.T. Camp? HEART stands for Helping Everyone Attain Repairs Today. In 1993, Steve and Lisa Walker, Youth Ministers from Winter Park, Florida created a Catholic faith based experience for Catholic Teens, combining a positive reinforcement of Catholic Traditions and providing a weeks worth of service to others in a community. They started with one camp and 100 teens. In the summer of 2005, 8,000 teens and adult leaders from 350 parishes registered for one of the 25 camps they now operate each summer. St. Teresa's Catholic Church Youth Ministry has enjoyed 12 of these week long Catholic Faith based experiences, which has allowed in excess of 250 teens from our parish to learn how to follow Christ. Most of these teens go 3 and 4 times before leaving for college and some have gone back their freshman year in college. | The above cannot be accomplished without true dedicated Adult Leaders. St. Teresa's has a special Adult leader who has given a week of her summer vacation for everyone of the years listed above. Annette Haggerty has gone to all 12 HEART Camps leaving smiles with all those she encounters. God has special places for people like Annette as no human can pay her back the time and energy she has given to our Youth Ministry. God Bless You Annette |

| EACH HEART CAMPER MUST RAISE A LARGE PORTION OF THE FUNDS USED TO PAY FOR THE WEEK'S EXPENSES. Our Parish gave approx. $30,000.00 for 40 teens and adult leaders to go this year. Each Year we hold 5 major fund raisers CAR WASH IN THE FALL PANCAKE BREAKFAST IN THE WINTER CAR WASH IN THE SPRING BBQ LUNCH IN LATE APRIL OR EARLY MAY AND A LETTER WRITING CAMPAIGN ASKING FOR DONATIONS FROM PEOPLE AND BUSINESSES IN THE ALBANY AREA COME BACK AND CHECK ON LINKS TO THESE EVENTS AS WE PREPARE FOR OUR 13TH HEART CAMP If you are moved to help a teen attend next year's HEART CAMP, you may send a donation to St. Teresa's Catholic Church Youth Ministry attn: John Johnson 417 Edgewood Lane Albany, Ga. 31707 |
